Registration of stay
EU-citizens can enter Poland with their ID document (a valid travel document e.g. passport, or another document certifying his/her identity and citizenship).
Non EU-citizens and non-Schengen citizens need to legalize their stay in Poland. Please find below the options you have (for all of them you must hold a valid passport):
1. VISA
You can apply for a visa for purpose of studying in Polish Ambassy or Consulate in your country of origin (citizenship) or in the one you are currently staying in or other EU country. Please contact the Ambassy/Consulate of your choice for detailed information regarding visa obtaining process.
Remember! You cannot apply for a visa being in Poland, you need to do it before coming to Poland.
2. STUDENT MOBILITY
When you have valid residence permit or a long-term visa with the annotation "student" issued by another Member State of the European Union covering the entire period of the planned stay in Poland -> having temporary residence permit as a student you can legally spend up to 90 days in each 180-day period in Schengen area countries. Since you are going to study at Warsaw University of Technology (WUT) for 1 or 2 semesters, which is more than 90 days, you can stay legally in Poland by applying for students mobility.
If you are interested in this option, please contact the Welcome Point office for further information and a list of documents you need to collect and provide us with before starting your mobility. The original or certified copies of the documents must be sworn translated into Polish* and sent by post together with signed form to: Welcome Point pok. 86, Plac Politechniki 1, 00-661 Warszawa, Poland.
Remember! You need to provide the WUT with required set of documents before arrival. For further details regarding deadlines please reach Welcome Point (contact details below).
Warsaw University of Technology will send an official student mobility notification along with the required documents to the Head of the Office for Foreigners. The Office for Foreigners shall investigate the case within 30 days. Afterwards, we will notify you about the decision.

* The notification must be accompanied by original documents or certified copies of the documents. Documents written in a foreign language must be submitted together with a sworn translation into Polish (i.e., made by a translator entered on the list of sworn translators of the Minister of Justice in Poland).

3. POLISH TEMPORARY RESIDENCE PERMIT (POLISH RESIDENCE CARD)
When you have valid residence permit in one of Schengen state or a valid long-term visa (Schengen or national) with the annotation "student" issued by one of the Schengen states covering the entire period of the planned stay in Poland -> having valid temporary residence permit as a student you can legally spend up to 90 days in each 180-day period in Schengen area countries. (outside the country, which has issued the residence permit). Since you are going to study at Warsaw University of Technology (WUT) for 1 or 2 semesters, which is more than 90 days, you can stay legally in Poland by applying for Polish Temporary Residence Card at the Mazovian Voivodeship Office in Warsaw.

Remember! You must apply for temporary residence permit upon your arrival.
